Ciao, sono Julie!

I have been a genealogist for 15 years but became exclusively an Italian genealogist after successfully collecting the documents that my husband and our children needed to claim Italian citizenship by descent. At my husband’s appointment in San Francisco, to my surprise, the consular officer exclaimed “perfetto” after looking over each document, and ended by suggesting that I start a business helping others claim their Italian citizenship. So, I eventually did and I’ve never looked back. Since then, I’ve helped many people discover their Italian past and there is nothing else I would rather do.

I met Julie through an attorney friend who was helping me with my attempt to gain Italian Citizenship. From our first emails and phone conversations, I knew this was going to be a great fit! Not only did Julie help me find documents and information critical to my citizenship case but we went on to write and publish a 45-page book on one branch of my family. Not lost in any of these accomplishments is the fact that she did this all during a pandemic with most offices in the US and Italy closed for the foreseeable future. As you may know, the citizenship case will take some years, but we are in the middle of our next project, another book on a different branch of my family. Not only has Julie done this with extreme professionalism but now is considered by most of my relatives as part of our family.

Julie has created a process for pursuing dual citizenship that makes it manageable, charting required communications and documents to provide an ongoing record of progress.  In the past year she has been responsive to all my questions by email or phone. I can’t imagine doing this on my own!

Working with Julie Brown has been a true gift. I had been trying to acquire a dual citizenship for a couple of years, but even with the support of an attorney in Italy I was getting nowhere. The process was arduous and overwhelming. Eventually, I was referred to Julie and I have been grateful for it ever since. Her knowledge of the process, organization, and thoughtfulness has been extremely helpful. There is no way I could do this without her.
